HP has announced the “Omnicept” version of its HP Reverb G2 virtual reality headset.

This headset will be packed with additional cameras and biometric sensors because HP wishes to measure user reactions and adapt the immersives experiences in real time.

For example, cameras for eye tracking but also for facial tracking will be included, allowing your avatar to truly reproduce your facial expressions for a more realistic rendering, thus, improving the communication in virtual reality.

A heart rate sensor will also be present for a better understanding of the user reactions.

The headset cameras and sensors will enable to determine in real time the cognitive load and the reactions, when a user will perform a specific task.

Consequently, the HP Omnicept software will adapt the level of difficulty of an exercise in real time, according to the user’s reactions, to adapts the mental charge and to avoid potential situations of stress or discomfort.

HP seems to focus on the opportunity to create a “more human-centered virtual reality experience”.
